If that's the case... You said it isn't how our bonds with each other are affected, so all I can think of is that stress is a measure for some other factor. I think the physical results of the experiments aren't what you're studying at all, but rather what causes them. Usually when experiments on living creatures are run, it's to test the side effects of some substance.
