[Like many newcomers, Diamond had heard aaaaall about this war and junk but hadn't really connected it. Joyfully he'd spent his month getting to know the others in his house and making friends outside of it, and now as he scans the list he sees his name.

There are his seniors too, of course, but they've been here a lot longer than the trio and have probably got the experience. Diamond wonders if Missy had as well-- no, he doesn't think so. She would've told them otherwise.
Diamond is oddly calm given the fact his name and his friends' names are on the list to go to war, and when he's not sitting around the house daydreaming that this is just a nightmare itself (how could this happen to me / i've made my mistakes) and waiting for his counterbalances to bring it up first...]
