My dear people of Luceti --

An invasion, all under the guise of a fantasy. What’s been done will not be forgotten. Certainly not by you, and not by the denizens of a dozen other enclosures who suffered similar attacks at the same time. As we speak, programmers and engineers hard at work combing through the barrier’s nuts and bolts. If the Cultists and his Lordship exploited some natural weakness in the dome, they will find it. Patch it up. Curious, isn’t it, that the Count chose yours to invade with his own two feet?

But there are other matters to discuss. I spoke with some of you only a few months ago. Let me announce more completely what I, back then, only intimated. I’m Carol, and I intend to spend some time in our little town. If you like, you can consider my resolve to continue my work here a sign of good faith. I remain unarmed and -- I assure you -- wholly peaceable. In this way, I hope I may have faith in you as well. After all, we are kin in a strange kind of way.

It is my duty -- as well as my pleasure -- to be Luceti’s liaison with the Organization. You must have many questions, concerns, and many many curses. Bring them to me, and we’ll see what can be done. We can talk here. But if any of you find the journals distasteful, you can also come have a seat with me at the sweet little tea shop. I’ll be there for the afternoon.

I'm sure it's a concern that's crossed the minds of your organization already, and I can't help but be concerned myself. As we all know, they were here for over a week. And they used that time to play these mind games on us. But how are we to know that's all they did? Is there any well to tell that they haven't left behind any kind of lingering presence or unpleasant surprises?

Our engineers assure me that nothing nasty awaits you. Or me, for that matter, as I'm here as well. I'm certain they would not have permitted me to return had they suspected the matter wasn't dealt with.

The wings are an occurrence which is -- for want of a better term -- natural in this world. The Organization has nothing to do with their existence and we can only speculate on their merits. Certainly, it seems they allow us to exist at all in this world.

Because -- impressive though she may be -- Luceti is not the only enclosure worth invading. To think otherwise is to invite hubris.

He's newly promoted to lead all of Region Six -- but it sounds like what you want would fit under the mission rewards program he spearheaded. Make a request to exchange mission points, perhaps, for this...restoration.

[For once, Carol's voice grows...almost stern, perhaps. Not cruel, but there's some spark of the old teacher in her.] It is impossible to save them from the Cultists once they've been taken. What I said was possible -- what we've been doing -- is deprogramming people who have been rescued mid-illusion. These are two separate states.
