[Voice, Locked to Residents]
[At approximately 4AM in the morning of the 25th, the journals will suddenly blare with the sound of an alarm, followed quickly by this message:]
Attention, Region Six. This is an emergency. The following occupants are required to report to the teleporters in one hour to act as a reserve force for an unscheduled battle located in Region Eleven, designation Vaskoth.
[A list of names is posted.]
Those who refuse will be forcibly dragged, and we take no responsibility for any injuries obtained should that happen. Anyone not summoned will not be accepted, either as additional forces or as replacements for someone else. Weaponry and equipment not native to this world is incompatible with the nature of your location, and will therefore not be permitted. Suitable replacements may be available to you at your destination. You will rendezvous with Specialist Davis upon arrival, and he will direct you from there.
I repeat, you have one hour. Don't waste your preparation time with pointless questions. Get moving.
[ooc: as stated, the commandant won't answer willy-nilly, so this post can be used for draft prep if you want! Also the full draft details a HERE, for anyone who missed it!]

[action]
[It's been over a year now since he was last drafted. He hasn't been drafted again. He isn't going to the battlefield. His own life isn't in danger -- like a mantra, he silently repeats it to himself over and over as he stands at the top of the stairs, fighting for the courage to go down and see her before she leaves. To wish her luck. To pray for her safe return. There's only so little he's capable of doing for her, and right now, he's too weak to even do that. Even for past drafts, whether it was Tear or Anise being sent off, Ion could only offer the smallest of words after hours of mentally preparing himself. It's been over a year. Why was it still so hard to talk about -- let alone even think about -- the drafts?]
[He takes a deep breath before finally heading downstairs. There's probably not much time before she had to leave by now -- an hour is nothing in situations like this.]
Tear?
[At the very least, he's managed to keep his voice relatively calm.]
[action]
Ion, you didn't have to get up... [It was a pointless remark to make, but she was at least glad to be able to see him before she went off.]
[action]
[Tear was a soldier. She was more than capable of taking care of herself and protecting others -- a fact Ion knew from experience. And yet these wars felt so different from the things they witnessed back home. The things they were capable of, the things that could go wrong... even knowing death wasn't permanent in this world, it somehow felt all the more terrifying. Or was that simply because of how things had changed here...?]
[He takes a few steps closer before stopping suddenly, almost as though he were afraid to get too close. A small voice in the back of his mind begs to hold her by the hand and plead with her not to go -- a strange thing, when it isn't as though she has a choice -- and he's fighting hard to suppress it. Tear was strong. He knew that, and yet...]
...please stay safe out there... Tear.
[action]
The best she could do was try to return home to the village safely, though she felt she should ask the same of him given the upcoming events associated with the end of this particular month.] I ask that you take care of yourself as well, please look after each other.
