Those who refuse will be forcibly dragged, and we take no responsibility for any injuries obtained should that happen. Anyone not summoned will not be accepted, either as additional forces or as replacements for someone else. Weaponry and equipment not native to this world is incompatible with the nature of your location, and will therefore not be permitted. Suitable replacements may be available to you at your destination. You will rendezvous with Specialist Davis upon arrival, and he will direct you from there.

I repeat, you have one hour. Don't waste your preparation time with pointless questions. Get moving.

Archie blearily reads over the list of names twice before finding his own. Not Elizabeth's, not Horatio's. One hour to become battle-ready is exceptionally generous, so he's going to make coffee and eat first while he processes this with his sleepy brain.

By the time he steps out the door, he is in uniform and battle-ready.]

[It isn't the fact that his name is on the list that bothers him. It isn't even Asbel's name that bothers him the most-- as protective as he is of his friend, he knows that Asbel can handle himself in battle just fine. No, it's the fact that Isamu's name is on there that makes him the most upset, because Isamu is no fighter, not even with the skills he's learned here in Luceti.

Damn it.

He'll glance over at his bedmate to see if Isamu is awake yet, trying not to let his worry show.

A little later, he's dressed and ready and can be found out in the kitchen brewing himself some tea while he tries to wake up the rest of the way before heading out.]

[Like everyone else, Cheria is awoken by the sudden alarm of her journal (She didn't even know it could do that). Once she's read what the commotion is all about and who's to be drafted, she hurries to get dressed and leave her room.

When she barges into the kitchen, it's with a certain sense of dread and an expression of worry on her face.]

No children this time. That was a blessing. The ritual wasn't finished- but she and Saori would have an hour in which to complete it.

[Keimi shifts slightly from her position next to the taller girl. She groans, trying to squirm her way into a more wakeful state. When Daisy finishes talking, she sits up, rubbing her eyes.]

[He is sadly not unused to being woken up by alarms. Admittedly, he could happily live without it but his chosen profession didn't really allow for it.

He's awake quickly, grabbing the journal to see what the hell is actually going on, and groans softly at the sight before pulling himself out of bed.

He hates having to leave his bow behind, but pulls on his combat gear and packs a few other bits of clothing into his duffle before heading into the kitchen for a caffeine fix and some food before he heads out, as well as packing a couple of boxes of snacks bars and a canteen of water into his bag as well. Force of habit.]

[Not long after Clint arrives in the kitchen, Billy will stagger into the room from the entrance he'd made for his and Teddy's apartment, clad in full costume. He's also yawning, rubbing at an eye, and looking very much like a teenager who hasn't gotten a full night's sleep.

Clint will get a mumbled greeting that almost resembles human speech (something along the lines of "g'morning, hi, draft time") while he beelines for the coffee.]

[He got up from the alarm and... just was willing to roll with it. He puts on his Full Set of Gear except for the Pokedex, Pokeball, and Impact Dial. He figures/hopes the rest of it would be okay, even if he's not positive the knives Tenten gave him were made in Luceti or not.

But there's a bigger problem. Ikki's name is on the list. So as soon as he gears up, Linda on his shoulder, he makes his way as quick as he can towards the Avatar House. The droids are weakened and Linda's effective on them anyway, right? He can help.

And after whatever happens there, a voiced part-]

Weeeell, I'll be seeing some of you on the battlefield and others of you later.

[He'll be making his own way to the teleporters, geared up and a journal in one hand and Linda on his shoulder. He waits in Luceti but near the teleporter to the end of the hour]

[The journal's blaring makes for a rude awakening for this kid. Another draft announcement... what time was it, anyway? Tiredly, Rudy grabs his journal and goes through the list.. until seeing one thing that makes him comes to a dead stop. His name.

... There wasn't much time. Quickly, Rudy scrawls out a note for Jane and starts getting his things together. Once everything's all set, he'll head out. Without his ARM, he's not sure how well he's going to do on this draft. But he has to stay alive; the last thing he wants is to cause his friends even more worry.]

(Someone else seems to be headed towards that general direction. This guy doesn't seem too fazed by the entire thing, but he's not slacking off either. Battles are a part of his life, so if he has to draw his blade against threats, then he'll do it.

[The alarm itself isn't the infuriating part. It's seeing her name on there, listed for the second draft in far too short a time, that sends her into a hazy, half-awake state of anger.]

[She has an hour to gather her things? Good. What she needs isn't much.]

[Most of her supplies were, thankfully, still in the bag she had brought out with her when she made runs to the item store. Her rapier, in similar fashion, was where she left it -- on its rack by the door.]

[Once she made herself look at least mildly presentable, she fastens the blade to her hip and slings her bag over her shoulder, then heads out. Better to arrive early than be handled by those damnable droids.]

It was just by luck that I managed to be awake for the announcement- I was re-carving the wooden model of the Welcome Center when the message went out, and I checked the list of names, not just for my own name, but in case there was anybody else I was worried about.

Molly was first, but she was safe. Thank God. Richard was safe. Helios was safe. Rei was safe. There weren't a whole lot of names on the list that I was concerned with, but there were a few, and in one I didn't know how combat capable she was.

So I went by the teleporter, hoping to catch her before she left.

[This time, he will go quietly. He doesn't particularly want to have to fight the robots again, not when it seems rather inevitable. Face gone cold and hard, he divests himself of all of his weapons, as well as his armor. Hopefully there will be suitable daggers at this location. He does, however, pick up all of the spare food they have in the house (what their is of it) and his packets of tea as well as bottles of water. Those he vanishes. He also carefully "packs" a few books.

Throughout it all, he is coldly, implacably angry.

He pauses to speak briefly with Gregor (ooc: insert thread here) and then heads to the teleporters, making a few stops along the way. He is there early.]

[Gregor basically manages to make sure he and Ivan aren't on the list on the first read-through. It takes him longer to find Loki.

When he opens the door to glimpse his roommate, he immediately decides to let Loki approach him rather than vice versa. Loki does not look like he needs to feel pestered. So Gregor simply stays out of his way, sitting on the couch watching Loki unnecessarily raid the food supply. He doesn't mention rations are provided, no matter what they taste like.]

The last draft was honestly a relief for him, a welcome change of pace, a chance to legitimately protect people. Plus, it's what he's used to. What he's good at.

The loss of the lightsaber is gonna be a pain in the ass, but he can make do. So he wastes little time in preparing himself, and grabs a danish before he broadcasts. He is so ready for this.]

[Luke Skywalker turns on a video feed a few moments later, making no show of great haste or worry. Battle was familiar, and he'd missed several drafts in his time already. This was his first, but certainly not his first rodeo. He felt at home on the battlefield, and gave a hard look at the camera]

This is Luke Skywalker broadcasting to draftees. If you wish to discuss tactics or strategy then please don't hesitate to contact me. I'd like to remind everyone not to panic, and to not resist the droids. It's only going to make the battle harder on you in the end if you go in tired.

[He's feeling grumpy and stubborn enough that he grabs his spear on the way out. He especially doesn't like the idea of leaving the house without it. He'll hold onto it as far as he can take it.]

Groaning and then rolling to her side, Ino cracks an eye open to search for that sound when the announcement blares in the air. This immediately makes her sit up and grab her journal especially when she hears this is about an upcoming draft.

Okay, time to scan the list of names.

Please don't include me! An hour? Do these guys even know the meaning of decency? Oh right, I forgot. They don't-]

What? I'm on the list?! You've got to be-

[Then Ino immediately stops because an hour to prepare? Normally, it doesn't usually bother her that she's being sent on a draft. As a ninja, she's trained to be used to these things. To be forced on a draft is one thing, but to be forced on a draft with only an hour to prepare is another matter entirely. Oh well, scanning the list again, she realizes she'll be with friends. At least, Shikamaru and Riku are going. Same goes for their other comrades.

Wasting no time, she scans her wardrobe and prepares her medicines. When she sees her weapons, she briefly wonders why they're not permitted. What the hell are they up to now?

Maybe she should stop by Shikamaru and Riku's apartments after preparing. Or if they've gone ahead, she can just go to the teleporter on her own.]

[It won't be hard to find one very exhausted looking Riku. In fact, as soon as his journal starts ringing, he awakes with a groan and as soon as he skims the list and listens in on the message, he trudges out of his room with his doofy, technicolor bat hovering close behind.

He's not about to take off until he at least touches base with her, so, hey. Once he's in some proper clothes, he'll go ahead and knock on her door.]

[At least they share an apartment-- makes getting in contact that much easier.]

[Actually, nope, Mulder wasn't sleeping. He hasn't been sleeping well lately. Scully has been gone for a little bit now, and he's been staying up late at night just... watching the sky out of his window and thinking. Devolving a little into the mindset that he was in back when she was abducted. It's not a fun place to fall into.]

[So this? THIS is actually a great, welcome distraction, as wrong as that seems. It's something to focus on.]

[Mulder takes a moment to set aside his gun- how strange it seems to be disarming himself before rushing off to battle. That done, he grabs a jacket and takes off into the night/ridiculously early morning.]

[Well okay, Draco didn't actually refuse, he just didn't know his name was on the damn list. In any case, there's a very irritated dragon at the transporters. How they got him there, the world of Luceti may never know, because he certainly didn't fly in. That would've been easily spotted.

If he could look ruffled, he would very much look it, but as he can't, he's simply sulking and grumbling nearby until it's time to go.]

He's wide awake and ready to go by this point; he was called to the draft and ready to fight, but with Ven's name called out as well, he can't help but feel on edge. He knows Ven can defend himself, but getting defensive over him has become reflexive.

So Silver quickly gets ready- not that it's particularly difficult, he just has to throw on his jacket, goggles, and boots and recall his Pokémon sans Murkrow into their Pokéballs- and slips out his window and flies off to the first community building.

From there, he'll knock on and slip into Ingo and Emmet's place. He's his first priority now, as far as he's concerned. Any discussions as he nears the teleporters or reading up on other peoples' responses can come afterward unless someone specifically contacts him.]

[Ingo wakes up early, but not this early, on a normal basis. The alarm was startling, but what came after it was worse-- the announcement, and the names....

[He awakens to the sound of his journal blaring and Rune angrily hooting. Albert reaches out and opens his journal, listening as he slowly climbs out of bed. When he hears 'battle,' he immediately turns on a light and reads over the list of names.

One hour. Really. And something about not bringing equipment not native to this world... Just another disadvantage when they were going into this battle blind. He spends time focusing on getting changed, looking contemplatively at the crystals at the bottom of his wardrobe as the owl decides to take his frustration out on his hair. Wind? Earth...?

After finishing preparations and grabbing his bag and sword, he heads out.]

[Ororo catches sight of Albert in the tunnels. She doesn't come alone; Logan, Rogue and Mia are with her, but as they enter the tunnel system her companions break off every now and then to talk to other people they recognize. Ororo does the same.]

[The sound bleeds into his subconscious, jagged and fragmented as his awareness starts to wrap up and form into something coherent. It's an unfamiliar sound, and hardly welcome, and as he fumbles for a lamp he finds it's coming from his journal.

Draft. With a list of invitees with all-too-familiar names.

Including Pepper's.



So little detail, and the only significant one given implies that he's going into this without his armor. Desperate. The Malnosso are getting so very desperate.

And he gets to have a first hand look at just how desperate they are. With a handful of people he cares about more than anything.

Actually, Rogue didn't mind waking to the alarm. Her nightmare had just taken a turn for the particularly gruesome, and waking from it was welcome.

All of Rogue's weapons had been made in this world, and she wore them, along with her skintight X-Man uniform, as she lined up with all the others. She was carrying a rucksack with her - clothes, food, water: all pre-packed survival gear. Look, you didn't keep the number of paranoid people inside your head that Rogue did without picking up some of it yourself.]

[Ororo, still in her nightdress but with a robe pulled over it, is already in the kitchen by the time Rogue makes her way over. Her own journal is sitting on the table, opened at the page with the list of draftees. She's standing by the counter, turning on the coffee and letting a cloud rain some water into a kettle that she sets on the stovetop. In case some people preferred tea, you know.]

[Alarm function on the journals. Shikamaru's first reaction is annoyance; second is to question how he can repeat it. Could be handy.

Something to wonder for another time, he guesses. He saves his grumblings to himself and sorts out his weapons first. With less to pack then usual - the trench knives can't come, most regrettably - it's not long before he's ready. He uses the extra time to stop by the spare room where the supplies and food rations are kept to pack a few provision packs. One for himself and a few others, but not so much he can't carry. Conversations he'll keep for the tunnels.]
