Attention, Region Six. A draft is scheduled to commence on August 25th for five days following. Your location will be the West Central Ocean, en route to Kano Harbour via three ships. Choose a suitable captain for each, and the pilots will be programmed to follow your orders. Don't waste my time with incompetence, either. Put in charge only those who deserve it.
These are the residents who have been selected to participate.
[As usual, the list posted HERE is offered in text form, sans the mun names.]
Your mission is to protect the cargo ship above all else. Within three days you will reach your destination. Opposition numbers, rank, and skill are impossible to predict, however, their equipment often prevents them from attacking at night. Remain on guard, but take advantage of the respite you may receive by night. Upon reaching the harbour, the cargo will be unloaded. You are to continue protecting it until it is safely out of range of their attacks. I would advise against swimming unless you want to die.
For those of you who were involved in the last draft, I have only one thing to say: your performance was acceptable.
Over and out.
[Once again, the commandant will not reply to anything but draft-related questions or particularly inspiring comments, so if you're looking for a response, be sure to give her something worth answering!]

[She hadn't been able to help, the last time. This time, she's going to make sure to give it her all.]
[...not here]
...Of course, she would only say she was protecting her friends.
After all that, Dhaos ends up not contacting her at all. Hmph.]
[Voice]
Time to put on a show again, huh? [Norma sighs, playing up the part of aloofness.] Another day, another world that needs saving... Looks like all this gloom and doom is calling out to us huh, G-Girl? Just like old times! The Laugh Brigade's stepping out at first dawn! Into battle, lifting morale, fighting the baddies!
Charge!
[Voice]
Charge!
[Voice]
Worry. It's not something she usually does. But she's used to doing stuff like this with just her and Banjo - and for all the complaining she does about Banjo, he can be pretty level-headed in a pinch. Grune? Grune was spacey at best.
So... Kazooie speaks up, though she's masking any concern she has with annoyance.]
Listen, Gruney, you better get somebody to help you out. You can't do that whole standing-around-all-spacey-like thing here! This is a real battle and stuff!

[Split-Up Pads sadly won't help in this context.]

You're missing the point! Someone's gotta keep you safe. Remember that weird Battle Dome thinger mistake? Where you just stood there and nearly got whaled on?
Well, this is a real important battle thing and these guys are gonna be tough, so you can't do that again or you're gonna make it hard for everybody else, 'cause then we're gonna be rescuing you and not kicking butt!
[This is the nicest way Kazooie can put it.]
[Voice]
[Voice]
Just... just listen to me, okay? I'm the hero here. I know what I'm talking about!
[There might almost be a note of panic in her shrill, squawking voice. She doesn't want Grune to get hurt and, for once, there isn't any way to guarantee this.]
[Voice]
And so, Grune gives Kazooie her best smile and says:] I'll pay attention. And I'll be very careful.
It's all right. Everything will work out in the end.
[Voice]
Don't get yourself hurt. [It's an order, one that Kazooie gives almost out of desperation.]
... Look. If things get bad, and I'm around, I'll bail you out or something. Like last time. Capiche?
[Voice]
[Voice]
Guess I'll see ya later, Gruney. Good luck and all that...

...well, Giles knows you can protect yourself. Giles knows that, with the right motivation, you're damn good at protecting yourself. That doesn't mean he has to like it, or that he isn't worried.]
Thank you, Grune. We're all very glad to hear that.
Just be careful on the boats, yes?

Thank you. D: /fails
[Being a woman who lives on a giant ship in a world that used to be mostly water, the idea that many people here have never been on a boat before is an odd one.]
