Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

[ it just doesn't sit well with her. and when she glances back at rapidash and empoleon, they look similarly doubtful. none of them were wild, they'd always been pampered, and even if empoleon liked fighting, it was always against other pokemon. ]

[The decor is mostly a collection of oddities collected on trips--or things that might have been collected on trips. Some of the things Vastra identified as hers, others were simply intriguing. Amongst the tchotchkes are other Victorian curiosities. Bugs and butterflies on pins, small paintings, small volumes of poetry and foreign language dictionaries, swords and short swords and knives mounted to one section of the wall above an elegant and well-tended sword display, two shelves of a seemingly random assortment of books, a few potted plants, three rugs, a dozen cushions... to start.]

Of course. I reason that the more well-armed we all are, the better it is for everyone. [Vastra brings the teapot over, along with two cups fitted with tea strainers. All of it is spread out on a rather hideous ceramic tray with painted kittens, which is set on the half-wood, half-glass coffee table. Next to the six or seven knives Vastra has laid out.]

... guess... guess it does. [He's almost giddy (for a Law). He's feeling accomplished. He's not sure when the last time was he felt that.] So it's just the same thing to unlock it, right?

Maybe we can even have some music. I do have a generator if somebody wants to bring a sound system down.

You should be prepared. They're able to pull a lot of nasty tricks out there. And you're probably not used to dealing with people who can fly.

[If Eley needs something productive to do, then Rudy is quite sure he knows just the person to help out with that.]

Yeah, I think I know someone who can help out with that. There's a friend I have here who did something really nice for the people on the previous draft. Do you know Grune?

Grune? Yes I have met her before. She always seems concerned with those around her... I can imagine that she would want to help those returning from the draft.

You say she did something before? What exactly?

[Working alongside someone he already knew would definitely help make Eley feel more at ease. He knew Grune was a kind person. This would be good for him, he was sure of it.]

Unlike the base metals of the enlisted men's buttons, an officer's uniform did sport real silver. Sharpe's face was impassive as he sawed at each bundle of thread, freeing them from his jacket and lining them up on the counter. It had been a year since he'd had to pay such prices for anything, and yet he found himself falling comfortably back into the mindset of a man who had no need for pretty silver trappings.

But some buttons were more painful to hand over than others. Although a few were plain silver, those same plain'uns were buttons he'd had the camp wives sew on to replace the originals. And it was these originals that he would mourn the most. They had a raised design: a bugle horn and a crown, numbered with the familiar 95.

Beats me. I suspect I wouldn't be a fan of squirrel -- never mind how much meat they have -- [ and how the little girl knows that. ]

Anyway. Maybe it's not even true. I heard it from a guy who knows a guy who lives with a girl. In gossip terms, that's practically untraceable.

[The decor reminds him of home a little, the odd collections of things with not seeming connection save interest. Or magic in his case usually. He liked collecting interesting things.]

That's a very pragmatic way of looking at things I guess. I just hope I can manage to not skewer myself in the process.
