[Appearing on the journals is a written message as follows. A voice option is provided for a computerized reading of the text.]

Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

He goes into the bar, because he knows the announcement of a battle can only be prepared for by lots of drinking, so it's best to be ready to do the bartending gig and serve out drinks to all the poor suckers about to die. Besides, he's got something to ask of Buffy.]

[Derek reads this, counts the number of people going, including himself, frowns.

The Terrace. TERRACE. At last. [He muses over the difference between simply hearing the term and seeing it properly written out.] This should be interesting.

[And from Garrosh, seeing his name on there... a laugh kehhaahaha!!! And in turns into a growl and finally a loud roar of challenge by the end of it. War was something he excelled in and war was what he was going to make here]

[In the beginning when he first arrived in Luceti, he grew concerned over being experimented on and being forced to fight in a war he knew nothing about. He was told to make the best of living here regardless of those things and that's what he tried to do, doing what he can to forget about the inevitable.

Just when he was starting to adapt. Just when things were getting mildly better concerning his homesickness and worries, this happened. Not only are most of the Pokedex Holders forced to get involved, but so is he. An old man, a former Pokemon trainer is now a draftee.]

No...

[His grip on the journal loosens and it falls onto the floor. But he didn't bother picking it back up. He doesn't want to read anymore of what the Malnosso has to say about the Draft. He can't handle the thought of putting his Pokemon in harm's way or seeing the younger trainers get hurt or worse. He's afraid, so very afraid of what will happen once they are deported. He knows he won't be sleeping well tonight or at all, and he doubts everyone else in House 11 will as well.]

[The last time Vastra was in Luceti, she'd heard stories of this sort of thing happening. So she's not entirely surprised to see her name on the list. Fighting for someone else's territory though, sounded about as pleasant as spending the day in endless Scotland Yard debrief. It was boring, it was aggravating, and it took up time she could use to do other things.]

[But at least when she was working with Scotland Yard, she felt some sort of attachment to what she was doing. London was always safer as a result of her work--this... well Vastra has no idea how this benefits her at all. She's fighting someone else's war, someone she doesn't even know, and that's primarily what rankles her. But that grudging acceptance of her being drafted is the only resistance she puts up, because she imagines that actively resisting isn't going to work at all. Some cultures have ways of assimilating soldiers, and Vastra doesn't want to find out if the Malnosso are one of these cultures--even if the results are temporary.]

I am assuming that from the lack of an end-date, no one knows exactly when we are to return here. And I also suspect we are expected to pack lightly, as it sounds as though we are to be dropped into a forest and expected to defend it.

Given the lack of "questions and answers" from those leading this campaign, any observations from veterans to someone unfamiliar with the process would be appreciated.

[And while Vastra is fairly unperturbed by the notice, she does feel that working primarily in an urban area has stunted some of her more basic fighting skills. So she's practicing climbing trees in the forest--quickly. Not that this would be her ideal fighting situation, but a high place could come in handy. It also makes her think less about what could potentially be waiting for her in this completely alien setting, and focuses her slowly building nerves. The entire situation was, delicately put, ridiculous on many levels.]

[Cliff scowled when he saw the write-up and the list of names-- and how both his comrades and himself were on the roster. Orders were orders, but there was pride at stake here.]

Just who do they think they are, ordering us around like this?!

She supposed she should feel lucky. Two drafts had come and gone while she had been in Luceti, and she had been allowed to stay home for both of them. Now she was called to participate, and even as a worried nervousness made her feel sick, she knew what she had to do.

She had a gift. She could heal people. Maybe, maybe if she could use that to save lives out there...maybe it would be okay.

But she didn't feel like it was going to be okay. ]

A-alright. Does anything need anything before [ I ] we go?

Another draft...?

[Saleh studies the list carefully, looking for certain people. Looks like Kain and Rydia are going again. But Ewan...he doesn't see Ewan's name listed. Saleh is both disappointed and relieved. At least Ewan will be spared the dangers of the war, but there's plenty of trouble to get into within the enclosure as well.]

[And there's only more than a day to prepare, so Saleh will get himself ready by checking his equipment, practicing at the Battle Dome, and practicing his Valega in either the woods, or by the fountain plaza.]

[She finds the names she cares about on the list. Her and Cato.

Everything else? Doesn't really matter.

But she actually sounds pleased over the journals in reply.]

About time.

Henry's heard of these and they never seemed like a good thing to be a part of. His heart his pounding heavily in his chest. He was just ten. As much as he wanted to learn to fight, he didn't think it'd be happening this soon.

But, then he realizes that his friends would probably soon see this He's not sure how they'll react. It probably won't be good. He'll need to gather what little he has in readiness.]

[Bucky just stares at this list. It's a far cry from the last time, when they were dragged out of bed, but the memories of last time come rushing back in a hurry when he reads that list. Pepper isn't on it this time, thank God. Unfortunately, she's not the only one he was worried about.

Normally he wouldn't bother to respond to this, but this time his reaction is immediate and visceral.]

[Xzana can't read. Nor has she figured out buttons just yet. So this post goes completely beyond her notice. Of course if her friends would like to warn her about what's about to happen she'd probably like that better then the droids she'll be waking up to later.]

[Masaomi doesn't really give a response... but given the stuff him and Linda have been going through for the last while, he wonders if he's "graduated" his slump. Probably not. Either way, he'll be looking to chat up some of the other trainers for insights now that it's to the wire and talk with his friends who are in or may not be in the draft.]

[So his name isn't on here. Neither is either of the girls'. However, a lot of his other friends are on here. Miyabi, Cloche, Leon, Rogue, Silver, Caius, and others. Most damningly, someone he is personally responsible for - Pillouette - is going somewhere he can't reach. He's going to try to visit all of them he can in the span before they're sent out, and he's also going to ask a special favor of some of the ones he knows are most capable. So feel free to thread that out!! if you want]

I was starting to get worried about the Third Party. They'd been pretty quiet for a while.

[She shouldn't be fighting. In any other case, she would have yearned for the chance to be drafted after so long, but she is in no condition to fight.

Daisy fears for Keimi and her team, more than herself. She is afraid she would be a load in this battle with so many coming and not even getting to see things herself. Even then...

She was a Spartan. This place taught her that a Spartan was not augmentations and armor. It was pure human spirit.

Briefings for urban warfare and jungle warfare are still in effect. Adapt your use of them as you see fit for the forest and for the man-made environment of the stronghold.

Make pairs of mage-user and tech-user, grab the gear suggested in these guides, and keep yourselves in touch via radio.

[Saori's voice opens with a low, guttural growl. Everyone she lived with was on that list, and Clint and other friends too. Worried doesn't begin to describe her, she's downright afraid. Not for herself, but for everyone around her. War is where people were hurt and killed. And she remembers the last draft all too well.

As luck (or fate) would have it, something turns up in the shop that day, like it's been waiting. Uniform. Something he only wears under duress. But designed for combat all the same.

He spends most of the time before the draft preparing, feeding power into threads, weaving spells half complete, just needing the touch of power to activate them.]
