More seriously, however- no doubt most of you have noticed the widespread issue that's resulted from that decision. Some might even recall a similar experience occurring years ago. If you're concerned about the affected residents meeting their unfortunate ends once again, well, that's unlikely. Death wouldn't be a particularly beneficial alternative to what you've unleashed this time.

However, there's still the matter of sorting out the spirits now. I'm interested in hearing what you lot have already tried when it comes to dealing with what you've unlocked, but my advice for getting the black spirit to relinquish control is to let the rest do the work for you. Last time this happened, I was able to fix it, but it's beyond my power now.

Discuss it amongst yourselves, trade your theories; I'm sure you'll come up with something. I'll help with what I can. Sooner would be better, though- I make no promises that my former comrades won't take measures to deal with you if this isn't resolved internally within a few weeks.

Me and the girls I live with are exorcists, back where we come from. I'm not that smart, but Izumo in particular is so-- I've been thinkin' that we should try to figure out out like that. [He's not sure if he can use his flames or not, so he doesn't... well. Bring that up]

How does exorcism work?

Well, there's all sorts of ways, but the jist of it is that you gotta beat up or pacify the demons causing problems.

Would that involve beating up or pacifying the host?

All kinds of stuff, really. Like, some of 'em have some unfinished business - ghosts and the like - so you help with that. Some of 'em aren't even bad to begin with, so maybe just an offering would be best. But some- actually, a lot of demons, really. They're just bad, and you've got to stop 'em from hurting people.

I think it'd be worth a shot, at least.

Yeah, same. But I don't wanna wanna just jump people on it 'til I know more.

Not... yet. I mean, these aren't technically the sort of demons I know [he can't hear them in his head, like he can every one back home] so I didn't know if I'd just hurt the people I was gonna try it on. So I wanted to see what everyone else thought.

Is this only something that you would be able to do, personally?

The something only I can so would be if I used my flames for it. Otherwise, at least Izumo and Shiemi could pull it off too, and depending on how it works, I bet other people could learn it.

Could you give any examples of how it might be applied?

Well, it sort of depends like... uh. A lot of demons back home have a "death verse" you can chant. But they also have stuff like elemental weaknesses you can work with, or holy water, or stuff like that. I guess in this case you just gotta want to make it get out of the body they're in?

Sounds like something best used for a last resort...
