And John acknowledged that he ages differently from humans. [Well, "never denied" that he ages differently.] Those who can't die and those who grant death. Interesting conflicting forces.

Anti-surveillance... Shift technology? Though I had assumed Shifting only works on that which is still alive.

Because of the inconsistencies. If they were that irate, they'd have released it sooner; it's not as if it was a rush job to push out in six days. It takes a lot of time to make one of those, and even more to mobilize it, so this was planned.

...or, well, that's my guess.

Only in certain circumstances. Technically speaking, absolutely anything can be Shifted. It just works much more efficiently on the living since...usually the living are the ones that react to the changes.

And in that time, the memories of those who are placed inside the encampment are modified, so that they're completely oblivious to what took place in that intermediate step of being brought here to begin with.

... But if neither the Malnosso or the Third Party succeed in getting their hands on them, they manage to survive on their own. Or find new roles in the outside world. Hm...

Isn't that their major conflict? How their ... groups oversee this world? The Organization "publicly" aids and supports the undying, while the Third Party sees themselves as "freeing" them through sacrifice?

The only other person I can imagine who'd have access to that sort of technology would be John. Is he really that generous, though?

Well, not entirely. Those accounted for are within protected enclosures, a bit like Luceti but much more lax. Most people are soldiers, or laborers to help with the war against the Third Party.

If there are any individuals that survive outside those cities, I don't know about them. Well, aside from myself of course.

True, but what of the Third Party after they accomplish their goal? They're stuck in the same cycle we are, after all. Sure, they can continue to sacrifice each other until they're down to two, but whoever those two are...well. They're stuck. Makes you wonder about the ones on top.
