[Appearing on the journals is a written message as follows. A voice option is provided for a computerized reading of the text.]

Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

[When Rin arrives, she's still sitting at the small table in her apartment staring at her journal, trying to comprehend being sent off in a battle.

Needless to say, she's terrified.]

[At Pillouette's apartment he doesn't bother to knock. Or well, he doesn't plan on knocking. But if the door unlocked?!

If it is he just barges right in]

[When Rin enters, Pilouette looks up at him, unsure of what to say or do.]

Did...Did you see it?

Yeah! Of course I did! That's why I'm here!
[Perhaps as a result of his slight panicking, he loses the dour tone a bit to enter the mode of something more jumpy. his tail is up right and he's generally looking a little frantic]

B...But it's not like there's we can do about it, right? I mean...if I try to refuse, it'll just make it worse.

[She looks back to her journal, looking back at the draft list right at her name. Of all the things she has gone through in Luceti, being sent off into a war scares her like nothing else.]

Like what, the robots? [He begins a space a little in spite of himself, his tail twitching, and his hands going to rest on the sword bundle he perpetually keeps on his back. Yes, he lost to the droids when they took him and Izumo. But he was Surprised then. There's been other times-]

Yeah. I mean, no matter what I'll do, I'll just have to go anyway, right? There's not really a way to get out of it...

[Classmates, some of them much younger than she is. The whole thing is incredibly discomforting.]

I've beaten some droids before. I could fight to tryin' keep you out of it.

[She doesn't want to go. She's scared to go. But at the same time...this is exactly the kind of thing she started studying First Aid for, isn't it?]

...No. I think I should just go. I can't really run from it if everyone else is going, right? Besides, maybe I'll be able to help...

Yeah? You sure about that?

[He's not trying to question her or infantilize her, not really. He just has a duty to look after her. And... he's not signed up here. So it's somewhere he can't really follow to watch after her, and it looks like it's somewhere she wouldn't really. Fit. But who knows, she can prove him wrong]

[She nods, trying to think about it in what she thinks is a grown-up way.]

Yeah. I-I mean, even if this is the first time, it probably won't be the last. S-So I might as well go so that maybe I'll be a little more used to it the next time.

[...] Not sure it is something you should get used to. [Muttering that more to himself than anything]

But alright. [And a nod]

[She forces a nervous little smile, trying to pretend like she's really not that scared.]

I...I'll do my best out there! And I'll be just fine! Um, I promise! But, um...while I'm gone...Can you hold on to this for me?

[She pulls a sparkly pink cellphone with an alligator sticker on the back from her pocket and holds it towards him.]

J-Just in case! I don't want anyone like...getting into my apartment and like, messing with it or whatever!

Yo--- you sure? I mean, I'll do it! [With a little gulp, actually, but he gingerly takes her phone and cradles it in his hand. Oh. He nods] I'll be proud to do it!

["Proud to do it." As important as her cellphone is to her, Rin's reaction causes her to giggle, just a bit.]

There's lots of pictures and stuff on it, so I'm counting on you! ...And I really appreciate it. I mean it.

You got it. [And he grins, laughing a moment, until--]

--And I promise not to look at none of the pictures too!

[She hadn't even thought about that possibility until Rin had mentioned it. She straightens up and does her best to put on a stern face.]

Y-You'd better not! Because if you do, I'll know! Uh...But it's not like there's anything weird on there! Really!

I didn't say- There's weird things on there?!

N-No! There's not! I just told you there's not, weren't you listening?! Th-There are absolutely no weird things on that cell phone!

[There certainly aren't photos of her and her friends back home making ducklips and dancing around singing into hairbrushes.]

Okay, okay, so there's no weird things! I heard you! [He says this waving a hand dismissively and his tail curling behind him as he makes to hold the phone tighter-]

[Only to end up staring pointedly at it. He's got to know now]

[She sees that look, Rin, and she's not happy about it. She pouts a little, letting out a childish whine.]

Riiiiiiin! You know, maybe I should ask someone else to look after it!

-No! I got this! [And he snuggles his phone up closer to his chest. To make a point about how he's got this!]

Well...I guess I can trust you. Besides, you're strong enough to protect it if anyone decides to mess with it!

[As if anyone would...]
