[At approximately 4AM in the morning of the 25th, the journals will suddenly blare with the sound of an alarm, followed quickly by this message:]

Attention, Region Six. This is an emergency. The following occupants are required to report to the teleporters in one hour to act as a reserve force for an unscheduled battle located in Region Eleven, designation Vaskoth.

[A list of names is posted.]

Those who refuse will be forcibly dragged, and we take no responsibility for any injuries obtained should that happen. Anyone not summoned will not be accepted, either as additional forces or as replacements for someone else. Weaponry and equipment not native to this world is incompatible with the nature of your location, and will therefore not be permitted. Suitable replacements may be available to you at your destination. You will rendezvous with Specialist Davis upon arrival, and he will direct you from there.

I repeat, you have one hour. Don't waste your preparation time with pointless questions. Get moving.

[Ororo had been on a draft before, and as terrible as that experience was, she had time to prepare herself for it. She wonders how this particular one would go.]

Bad enough to require to include as many as they did on this list. [She waves a hand in the general direction of the journal.]

[Rogue made a small noise of agreement before she glanced over her shoulder at Ororo.]

Which one were you with us on?

Just the naval battle, but we were given ample time to prepare then, I believe. [From what she remembers, anyway. Or at least, it'd been more than an hour, and at a more respectable time of the day to boot.]

Oh - right. Yeah, that was a while ago. I don't think I was on that one with you.

[Ororo nods distractedly. The coffee's done, so she takes the carafe and starts pouring out a few cups.]

No, I'd gone alone. [She gives Rogue a bit of a smile.] But not for this. It's been a while since we fought together.

[A perfunctory return smile, a quirk of the lips.]

This ain't exactly ideal circumstances.

Nevertheless, I feel better with you and Logan on my side.

Mia too. [Rogue beings to crack the eggs in preparation.] You'll be impressed with her when we get out there.

We worked together briefly, during my first draft. It's where we met, actually. I'm sure she's improved since then, as well.
