Attention, Region Six. This is an emergency. The following occupants are required to report to the teleporters in one hour to act as a reserve force for an unscheduled battle located in Region Eleven, designation Vaskoth.

Those who refuse will be forcibly dragged, and we take no responsibility for any injuries obtained should that happen. Anyone not summoned will not be accepted, either as additional forces or as replacements for someone else. Weaponry and equipment not native to this world is incompatible with the nature of your location, and will therefore not be permitted. Suitable replacements may be available to you at your destination. You will rendezvous with Specialist Davis upon arrival, and he will direct you from there.

I repeat, you have one hour. Don't waste your preparation time with pointless questions. Get moving.

Not offhand. I'd just like to spend a few quiet evenings with you, I think. Talking, doing other things people in relationships do. Reading together, or sharing music. Something...normal.

[Luke smiles at the girl as he makes his way out the door]

[When they meet, Mercury isn't sure if Luke reaches for her or she reaches for him first, but she finds her hand edging closer to his.]

[Luke doesn't mind, and when they touch he checks around for observers before giving Mercury a quick kiss. Can't give her away that way, but...something just makes him want to. A nagging feeling that something bad's going to happen.]
