Attention, Region Six. This is an emergency. The following occupants are required to report to the teleporters in one hour to act as a reserve force for an unscheduled battle located in Region Eleven, designation Vaskoth.

Those who refuse will be forcibly dragged, and we take no responsibility for any injuries obtained should that happen. Anyone not summoned will not be accepted, either as additional forces or as replacements for someone else. Weaponry and equipment not native to this world is incompatible with the nature of your location, and will therefore not be permitted. Suitable replacements may be available to you at your destination. You will rendezvous with Specialist Davis upon arrival, and he will direct you from there.

I repeat, you have one hour. Don't waste your preparation time with pointless questions. Get moving.

[Oh, God, it's too early for lip-reading. She stares at the journal, gives serious through to chucking both it and Nara out her window, and finally sits up.

Draft. [This time he holds up a finger.] One hour.

[Well. Shit. Now she's awake. She tosses aside the blankets and slides out of bed. Time to get some weapons.

And clothes. Clothes would help.]

There aren't any. [He speaks slow.] It's an emergency, and equipment and weapons not made in this world are prohibited.

[She stops what she's doing -- absently pulling open a drawer full of pointy and sharp weapons while watching his face -- and her gaze cuts over to the fan resting in the corner. She'd just cleaned it, too.]

No outside weapons? [Just to make sure she "heard" that right.]

[He nods.] But access to others, supposedly.

Supposedly. [She nods, though, and carefully picks through a few of the more mundane weapons. The fan and the scroll is untouched.] Anything else?

[endgames]

No. Anything else we'll have to take from the briefing. But I'll be there too, as will most of the others.

[You'll stick with them this time, right?]

Then get out so I can get dressed. [Yeah, she knows what you're not saying, Nara.] I'll meet you there.
