[Appearing on the journals is a written message as follows. A voice option is provided for a computerized reading of the text.]

Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

Hey, I'm not just gonna sit around do nothing!

[Cross is even a bit annoyed by the suggestion. A hero didn't sit on the sidelines. They needed to be out in the open for people to see.]

Everyone here who can fight is going out. I might as well too.

[It's all he can do to reassure the man. He'd be fine. There were heroes here to defend everyone and even if it's scary Henry would fight too if he had to.]

[It's probably hard for her. Most new people, really. He recalls, clearly, how hard it is. But it's remarkably easy now. He's certainly concerned for his own well being, but a part of him is looking forward to it. Maybe killing cultists will be cathartic. It will fill that hole he's been feeling since he died.]

There's always going to be people needing help. The injured, the civilians. That sort of thing. Protecting our base of operation is just as important as pressing forward.

Sokka's back was turned while he polished a boomerang, not quite turning as he heard someone enter. A lot of people browsed before hitting him up for requests. But when this one did, he slowly turned as he continued to finish up.

"That's what I'm here for--- gah!" Eyes widened, he recognized Chouji. Oh, he'd certainly never been friends with him before, but he did interrupt a date that was with his sister. He quickly composed himself. "Ahem! I mean. For."

Clementine.

[Oh, she can be scooted, but that doesn't mean she has to like it! She looks back to Jack instead.]

Is she supposed to help me kill people when they send me away?

Sokka emerged from the workshop. He was working on his own little things. Additional boomerangs, some explosive, some more clever. He had a wager to make good on, even if there was nothing tangible to win save for bragging rights. New Feathers were funny.

"Hey Sharpe. I take it you want more ammo."

[... ahh, his weakening master Souji. Sokka frowns a bit as he approaches the counter. He'd seen Souji on the list and frankly wondered how much use he was going to be if he was constantly going downhill.]

People need to hear it anyway.

Uh. Yeah. Something like that.

[He indicates via hand gestures that Clem isn't going to be killing anybody.]

Uh... If I say I'm terrified will you laugh at me? I mean I feel like I should uphold a whole macho guy thing here.

[He grins back though.]

So far they'd kidnapped us, performed experiments on us, and are now making us fight a battle for them. I'm not exactly inclined to put a smiley sticker in the 'nice' column for them.

But I agree with you on that other part. Don't know what we'll find, but if it was important enough for these cultists to want to take it there has to be something there.

I wouldn't dream of laughing at you. I'm a soldier and I'm frightened.

[She pats a cushion next to her and the fire.]

The journal? [Hmmm.] Ooh, yeah. The Professor at school said somethin' about it I think. School's closed for a whole week! [And look, now she's pouting, missing the entire point.]

Haha, good, because only take bets I can win. So don't make a loser out of me.

That's a relief then. I'm definitely not a soldier.

[He goes to sit down gratefully and the shrine really does have a calming atmosphere, be it the wards or just the general mood of the people who frequented the place.]

A gift? You really didn't need to. It's not even my birthday.

Have you ever been in a battle before?

[It's an offhand comment, as she pours out steaming mugs of tea, sliding one over to him.]

It's for the battle. It will protect you.

Wow Really? That's great! [He says with a smile before he shakes his head. And then he gets down one on knee to talk to her.]

But, see, the thing is, kid. Me and the Sarge, we both got picked. So we're gonna be away for a few days, okay?

Once or twice. I have a few tricks but it's not something I've been trained in. Before I woke up here I fought a minor Sidhe prince, but it was more a battle of wills than an actual fight.

[He takes the tea gratefully, wrapping his hands around it.]

Thanks. You- thankyou. If there'd been more warning I would've made a few shields but they take a while to enchant for anyone else to use.

Alright. Well, as strange as it might sound, why don't you stay close to me?

[Sipping quietly, she reaches into a small chest and pulls out a small charm]

This will help. It may not be a shield but it's something.

Woah, really? I didn't even notice! [That was a long list, okay.] Ya gotta tell me how the minigame works, though! Must be fun if all those people get to play.

I think that's a wise idea. We'll just have to see what the situation is like when we get there.

[He looks curiously at the charm.]

I appreciate it. I think we can all use all the help we can get. Feels like everyone I know is going.

It sure doesn't sound like fun. Too much fighting, you know? But I'll keep you updated, kiddo. You're just gonna have to be the player 1 of the place while we're gone.
