[Locked to Residents]

[Appearing on the journals is a written message as follows. A voice option is provided for a computerized reading of the text.]

Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

Kirk.

[The response was immediate.]

You...and KIRK?

Right on the first try. Well, that was no fun at all. But very clever on your part.

Or there aren't nearly as many captains as you've claimed.

I can keep two eyes on her!

[She usually does that anyway.]

One I hope to never make again in such... length. [Ow, ow, ow. He's not used to talking at length at that.] Thank you. That is a blessing, Dr. LeBlanc. [Yes, totally in business mode today, with all the titles flying about.]

[Itachi got him a beer. It's still sore.]

Only two? Sorry, kid, I dunno if that can cut it. I was hoping to find someone with at least three eyes.

[Wait stop back up.]

There are people like that here?
gonnawreckit: (proud)

[Voice]

[personal profile] gonnawreckit 2013-03-27 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. Never seen any myself, but there's enough three-eyed people back home that I wouldn't rule 'em out.
smallsurvivor: (03; bemused)

[Voice]

[personal profile] smallsurvivor 2013-03-27 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
So how are you going to find a three-eyed person to watch Vanellope?

[Zevran comes to Max not with one knife, but several. Small, large, balanced for throwing, curved or serrated for slicing and tearing, thin for filleting- a plethora of blades from which to choose and each he has a ready demonstration and word in mind for Max. The Mage will not wander into battle unarmed.

He certainly isn't expecting the uniform. It's enough to give him pause, melt some of the seriousness from his expression.]

Now that...is quite appealing.
gonnawreckit: (good humor)

I don't know. If none of 'em turn up soon, I might just have to settle for someone with only two eyes. Might be better that way in the long run - a third eye usually winds up being a big weak point.

Hn. It does. Could be shifting politics. [It's an interesting thought. Though he really would like the details of the battle sites that were provided before as well.] But you're right, this is an offensive that's pretty ambitious. [And not a reactionary call to arms to defend an asset.] They'll be pulling in a number of enclosures for this. [Law figures by now the Malnosso won't. It's a known fact of a draft by the residents who have been there a while. They can fill in the newbies. Like Law just did.] We might see some new faces.

And likely some very unhappy to see us.

The logistics seem challenging even for them, with so many to organize. ... which makes the time given less really a matter of generosity and more necessity for everyone.

Alright. How many children are we talking about here?

[Let's just establish that so he has a better idea how to go about handling this.]

[personal profile] dancing_flames 2013-03-27 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Anyone who would force children to fight for them is the worst sort of coward.

[Yeah, Shuda is pissed about this.]

Not any key ones, I'm afraid. I haven't been sent on that many missions. There are some children, but the last draft was too hectic, and the Kin'korrans I'm more familiar with are too... volatile. [Considering how they had held her against her will in the pizza shop.]There's Miss Carol, but she's seems closer to Malnosso territory.

[Just the person he wants to talk to!]

Miss Haruhi, could I ask you to attend the meeting at the Dome at three? We could use your organizational talents to co-ordinate relief for the draftees when they return from the field.

[Food, hot drinks, getting the injured to the clinics... basically, taking care of the aftermath.]
ribbonbon: (smile though your heart is breaking)

[She lets out a soft chuckle at that last bit. It's been a while since she's laughed, even a little bit.]

Okay. Um, where should I meet you?
rightfootforward: (unravel the mystery)

[personal profile] rightfootforward 2013-03-27 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
It would be best to have space for 10 at the most. Some are willing and wish to serve on the battlefield, but having a safe haven for them is the best possible route.

As much as I hate to increase the work of the medical team, even a small space would be of great assistance.
fleurdesel: center, (Why must I deal with this?)

Not many that are quite so flirtatious at least.

she wants to know. Merde.]

What was he like?

With this on record we shouldn't have to repeat it- or I could simply do so next time. Spare you the effort. [She passes the tea along with a half smile- professional? Yes. Entirely. But not without a weary edge of humor.

Going into war, no matter how infrequent, was a stressful thing.]

I don't think thinking about things is going to help.

[ Being thrown into it wouldn't help, either, but at least she wouldn't be sitting around stewing and dreading for an entire day. ]

I can't believe they do this to us.

Yeah, I guess so. A few more details before we have to go would be nice, though.

Right...I should do my best to stay away from the fighting. I should probably make sure I have enough stuff for my first aid kit, too. J...Just in case I need to do something when I'm not helping someone else.

[She almost hopes she won't have to help someone on her own. The last thing she wants is to make an injury worse by doing something wrong.]

[He returns about a minute or so later with a helmet in hand, shaped like a wolf and iconic of Water Tribe warriors. He stands in front of her, holding it facing her. He has two of these. His original one and one made by Molly Hayes. This is the latter, though he's since reinforced it to be more solid in case he needed it as a backup.]

When Water Tribe warriors go into battle, we dress the part. Usually the women don't go fighting... and this isn't really traditional for benders either. But this might help you keep your head out there. Metaphorically and literally.
