[Appearing on the journals is a written message as follows. A voice option is provided for a computerized reading of the text.]

Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

The power-copying shifters... how far can they copy an ability? Only to the same extent as the person they're copying, or could they copy an untrained ability and refine it?

It probably isn't anything like Team Galactic either... Maybe we should train in the forest together? I bet our seniors will want to show us some things, too.

"Nice to meet you, Sokka. Again, I guess. Yes, ninja weapons. Throwing knives mostly, kunai if you've seen what anyone else from my village uses. If you had small explosives or wire I'd take it, but the kunai are the important part." Sokka offered loans of weapons, and thrown ones obviously won't be coming back to him; Chouji doesn't use a boomerang. He'll gladly do Sokka a favor to make up for that if necessary.

He hesitates before adding, "One weapon that's not thrown would be good too, a sword or staff, if you don't mind."

Absolutely. There's a hell of a lot more to fighting a war than just marching out to meet the enemy after all. There's supplies and supply lines to manage, and dozens of support jobs from food prep to medical treatment to communications.

[He furrows his brow] Granted, some of the earlier drafts seemed to just be pulling people at random from here and throwing them out into the fire... [Michel shakes his head, and a reassuring smile returns] but these days the Malnosso have really gotten their act together.

[Welp. Eley's sudden presence completely catches the boy off guard, as he looks back up at the spirit.]

Eley?

[In an attempt to reassure the spirit, he holds up both his hands. Everything is totally okay, see?]

Ah... no, it's okay. Don't worry, I'm fine now.

... [He doesn't seem entirely convinced from the way he was wincing just moments ago but... well, he can't see any lasting damage. He's using his arms well enough after all.]

If you are sure. You seemed to be in pain just moments ago.

[Never mind. There was something else to discuss.]

You have been called on this draft, correct?

Point is, you don't have to--there are non-combatant things that need to be done if you want to stay out of the fighting. It's probably going to be ugly and bloody on the battleground.

As for the Malnosso, they probably are keeping it from us. Or they expect us to educate each other.

If you look at the transmissions here, you'll see the ones by Daisy and Law. They're a good place to start for information--they have a lot of good advice.

[Rudy is not even sure if he's entirely convincing himself. In all honesty he was still in pain this very moment, but tried his best to hold a weak smile anyway... even though now wasn't really a good time for such.]

... Yeah. Guess you saw it too, huh?

[Eley finds it difficult to hide his concern too. After all if he is injured, he shouldn't be going into a battle. Not that he had much of a choice, but he hated to think Rudy had less of a chance of surviving this because of an injury...

He sighs and nods his head.]

I should be thankful that I have not been dragged into this just yet. However I find myself fearing for my friends instead. I feel... helpless.

[Rudy just nods, looking downwards.]

Those guys keep on dragging innocent people into this. It's not right.

[If it were possible, Rudy would rather the Malnosso find a way that didn't involve dragging innocents into this conflict. But sadly, that just doesn't seem to be how they work.

He shakes his head. As if to reassure the spirit once more, Rudy smiles gently. It's still a weak smile, but a reassuring smile nontheless.]

It'll be okay. I've done this before, and I know what to expect this time. So, don't worry.

[Rudy always was good at reassuring others like that, but Eley couldn't help but worry all the same despite is best attempts. Not just for him, but for everyone else as well. He wished he had a say in this...]

I trust your words... however I cannot help but wish there was more that I could do. For you and the others I have grown closer to since my stay here.

Until then I guess we'll just have to sit tight. I'll keep in touch, miss..?

I found this document. [ She holds up this one. ] And somepony else gave me battle strategies. Spartan?

Managing. Okay. Well, that I can do. [ She looks a little relieved. Maybe this won't be too too bad. ]

Spartan--yeah, that would be Daisy.

Let me get you hooked up with the other guy; give me a sec.

[After a second, this link pops up.]

[Barely audible:] Maybe some of them.

[There's a pause, and a quiet exhale before he speaks up.]

Listen Henry, I know Steve said you could come along with us, but I've gotta tell you - I don't agree with that. You should stay with the healers and help out there. The only way to be safe is to stay far away from the front lines, and even then...

I don't want to scare you, but this is war we're marchin' into, Henry.

I thought so. I was wondering about the rations too, so that advice is also appreciated.

[That sounds like a terrible thing to remember. Good thing Chouji doesn't have telepathic abilities.]

If we run short of volunteers, I'll hang back and keep an eye on any of the kids.

But you know once Steve inevitably finds the most dangerous mission he can get his hands on, I've gotta have his back.

Yeah. Barton and I have run a few simulations together, I'll pick something with Henry's range in mind. [Bucky sighs.] I really don't like this, Steve.

Yeah. Just make sure it comes back in one piece. Oh. [He removes a large knife that was hanging from his belt, scabbard and all.] You should take this too. If you run into a Shifter, you'll need a way to protect yourself.

Yeah. You seem like a smart... mare, we might even be able to use you in the command center. When the fighting starts, the faster new information can be processed and relayed to us out in the field, the better.

And maybe to give us a little more motivation to fight their war with everything we've got. There's no other way to get the kids back home again.

[Bucky exhales slowly. The others are right, of course. Getting angry about it won't help anyone.]

We'll have to do what we can to co-ordinate and keep an eye on 'em. You up on the draft list?

[A name and voice that might sound familiar if he's ever come across the guide.]

I know. It's gotta be enough.

[There's a long pause, like he might have forgotten to stop the recording, but he's just thinking. He eventually continues.]

What do you say you and I go dancing again? It's been a while.

[There's a hesitation, a moment of tense, surprised silence before she answers, and there's a smile audible in her voice, subdued but genuine.]
