Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

I must say, it's a refreshing change of pace to finally hear something other than a fruitless complaint.

[Sure, this wasn't Jade's ideal situation. But he's a military man through-and-through. And he'd much rather own situations than become weak by complaining about something he can't change. He also wouldn't mind finding some way into the Malnosso's ranks; he's insulted by the very idea of being stuck into this enclosure rather than being given an immediate position among their military or science staff, but he'll seize every advantage he can of this situation while he can. And it will only help him become more efficient to find other like-minded people, at least in the area of not seeming hesitant about this ordeal.]

I like it when they give us something to do.

Especially when it involves fighting. What I was trained to do, so I'm good at it, and I like it.

Mm, that's a fair enough reason. I can't deny that I also appreciate the opportunity to properly utilize my skills for some sort of actual purpose.

I suppose we'll be getting quite the exercise out there. May I inquire about your particular skills?

I'm good at close combat with fighting knives and ranged with throwing knives. I can manage a short-sword or mace, too. I'm learning actual survival skills, too. Hunting, fishing, that sort of thing.

I see. Your credentials seem fairly versatile. [It sounds like she has no abilities beyond that of an ordinary human, but Jade's used to working with such soldiers.] I will certainly let you know if I need your assistance out there.

I've fought for them before -- the Malnosso. I want to be useful, especially to them. If...

[Her voice hardens just a little. Too old for a girl her age.]

If your goals are in line with theirs, you can call on me as an ally. I don't stand with the people in the enclosure who want to take them down.

[He's quite familiar with war and the effect it has on people. But he's not so good with emotions - he doesn't exactly feel or display any pity. He only makes mental notes of details such as the sound of her voice to build up the details in his head.]

You may find that we make compatible allies, in that instance. I can't say that I've been here very long, but working against the Malnosso seems only counter-productive and honestly futile in the long run. I'd much rather find a way to work with them.

Good. Then, we'll make decent allies for this trip.
