The following occupants of the Luceti enclosure must report to the teleporters in twenty minutes. You are required as reinforcements in Region 13. Bring all necessary armaments with you. You will be teleported directly into combat.

Anyone who fails to comply will be forcibly escorted to the teleporters by droids.

This is not a drill. I repeat: this is not a drill. You have twenty minutes.

[The message repeats twice more, the alarm continuing until the twenty minutes has elapsed. No questions will be answered.]

I'm ready to punch some Third Party cultists in the face for making it necessary for the Malnosso to wake us up and give us no notice whatsoever for this Draft.

[She holds up her arms, clad in the gauntlets that Adela made her with the royal crest in navy blue on the back of the hands.]

[There are a lot of complexities that are hard to address, that their wings can often be harder to damage, or that some of them wear armor over their wings. They'll still die from losing their wings. But there isn't time to go on about it. Aang just looks on sadly as Zuko starts to leave.]

[Her clothes are at least made of sturdy fabric and they're designed to allow for freedom of movement. She's acquired a few outfits over the past year that are good for training in while still looking stylish and colour coordinated. If she's going to fight, she wants to look good while doing it, dammit.]

[His own attempt at a smile fades when he hears that; he hadn't actually read the draft list in detail, so this is news for him.]

Jean, too? Oh man... [He looks off in worry for a moment, but then he refocuses himself.] Got it. I'll do my best to take care of her, okay? That duck won't be sitting on my watch! [They're brave words or attempts at such, while he's actually quite afraid. There's no Wolverine or Storm to keep watch over them this time.]

You don't remember. [She doesn't need telepathy to know that Kurt's scared. She's scared too. Times like this, she wishes that Storm and Logan were back -- but she's the oldest, she's been here the longest, she doesn't have time to let fear hold her back.] But my first draft, it was just you an' me. It was bad. In the swamps. Real bad. But the worst was when we let ourselves get separated. Once ya take Jean, stick with her. Watch each other. Always have someone with you that you can trust an' keep you head. We'll get through it, Kurt.

[She glanced up at him, her gaze set and determined.] I promise.

[And she very rarely promised. But Rogue wouldn't accept anything else.]

[It's after all the draftees are whisked away. Gold was laying wordlessly on the couch, staring at the door. It's late and he should be trying to go back to sleep, but he just can't. Sleeping feels nigh impossible right now.

When Red comes in through the door, he gives a half-hearted wave welcoming him back to the house, but says nothing to him yet.]

[If there had been more time... maybe they could have discussed that. But there wasn't. Zuko pauses though and glances back at Aang.]

[As usual, Fayt's pushed forward a bit by the larger man's strength, but he tosses up a look that says he's not amused by the joke.] Hey, now that's not going to happen. [He knew the risks now, he wasn't going to let himself get carried away by anything.]

Loki happily surrendered the sandwich to her. "I already ate one," he said. Then took the nut bar anyway. He was going to be using a lot of magic soon, he had a feeling. Which would mean a great deal of energy.

[He thinks back to that - that life he couldn't remember. It's weird to think that if he hadn't gone home and come back without his memories, he'd be around Rogue's age now. Maybe he would have been helping to call the shots. Maybe his knees wouldn't be quaking so much.

But hearing that from Rogue helps a lot, all the same. He looks towards her with a serious expression at first, but then a slight, sincere smile breaks through the fuzz at her, promising. He feels at least a little braver.]

Thanks, sis. [It's a word he's used less often than he once wanted to, but that's only because of what happened before he came to Luceti. Things had changed a lot since then, but even if he hasn't fully come to terms with what happened to Mystique, he still knows that in the end, Rogue is his sister. She's someone he can count on.]

I think... that I really am gonna do my best. And I'll find time to keep an eye on you, too.
