[Appearing on the journals is a written message as follows. A voice option is provided for a computerized reading of the text.]

Attention Luceti Residents.

The following names are being called to participate in a strike against the cultist hordes:
[the names listed here appear on the journal.]

All subjects are required to arrive at the tunnels at 8AM on the 27th of March for deployment. All listed individuals are required to be present. Subjects will then be escorted to TERRACE for battle preparation and further details.

Target will be Region One, a former Malnosso stronghold, presently in cultist hands. Subjects are advised to prepare for combat in forested areas. Further information will be made available at TERRACE. Questions and answers will not be provided at this time.

[The Malnosso will not reply to this message, but everyone is free to use this post to discuss among themselves, whether using voice options on the journal or doing action threads.]

... The Malnosso might. But I don't believe there is any decent man or woman who could ask you to take a life out of convenience. The only thing I expect of you is to stay safe.

[ Her heart sinks as he explains, and any hope she had of mediating the conflict as the Avatar goes straight out the window. Not that she was holding out hope for that. If it was even possible, Avatar Aang would have done it already. He could control all the elements. Korra wasn't there yet.

It was still hard for her to think about blindly fighting their supposed enemies, though. Maybe that would change when she saw them in person, but it didn't feel right. None of this did. ]

I want to focus on keeping people safe. People who can't fight for themselves. [ She could digest it more if if meant protecting people instead of blindly fighting. ]

Oh, I don't know. You can accomplish a lot with a few choice finger gestures.

[The reason, as Albert can guess, for speaking, as opposed to just writing was to reach the the villagers who were blind or just couldn't read.]

Mmmhmm. They certainly are being generous with the time they're giving us, don't you think?

[He noticed. And that extra time is telling in itself.]

[ She slides over to make room for him on the bed, crossing her knees in front of her.

The question was obvious, but she was hesitant to ask it. ]

[ She sighs, but sounds a little more resolved. ]

Right. If I see you out there, I'll be sure to show you some real bending, okay?

[Good. That's two people who can protect him, at least, since Richard can't.]

Stay out of the fighting itself. Help the healers and the doctors-- you should be safe with them.

[Hear that tone of voice, Henry? That's an order from the king.]

[Okay, she can do that. Doing what other people tell her to is probably what she's best at. She mulls that over for a second before responding.]

S-so, um, as long as I can like, keep my head together and do what people ask me to, I should be okay, right?

[Though, the "keeping her head together" bit is going to be the hard part.]

I'll be watching for it. And don't forget to watch me. I'm no bender, but I have a few moves of my own.

[Mr. Silverberg is quick to think ahead, he sees.]

W-well, Korra... You need to know what it means that you're going to war. I know you've faced problems back home, but it's nothing like this. They're going to make you fight. And the enemies... They won't be coming for your bending, or to take you captive. They won't care that you're the Avatar. They'll only come for your life.

[Souji appears at the smithy soon after Sokka makes his announcement, curious about his choice of words. He lets himself in and goes to the counter, leaning on it to see if Sokka is working in the back.]

You know they won't listen to your warning, yes?

Barnes, we'll organise a team, keep him away from the lines. We won't give them a reason why the children should ever be in harm's way.

Very well. It will be at our usual time. I will try to think of a variety of useful techniques for this situation.

[He switches to video and goes into the nice guy pose - the classic thumbs up and shining smile.]

We're going to get you through this. Everything will be alright, okay?

[At the house, Haruhi will likely hear Beat upstairs as he tries to work out his anger at Rhyme being pulled into this situation by throwing his pillow before heading downstairs. Rather than slide down the rail like usual, he thumps down the stairs, heading for the front door.]

They are. The extra time seems more a throwback to when Bil was in charge. [He momentarily muses over the possibility of Bil being involved, but it seems unlikely with the Security Forces in charge.]

Taking back an entire region would take a great deal of manpower. They have a good number of the village drafted. [Without any mention of whether or not some of them would be afflicted with Shift incompatibility problems upon leaving the barrier.]

[ There's a slight ringing in her ears when she hears this, and she almost stands up abruptly in response. That was just...she couldn't believe it. ]

No, they can't! I won't let them make me. [ She fought for what she wanted to fight for. She wouldn't be a pawn in someone else's game. ]

I won't do it, Aang.

[ She finds the courage within herself to grin and give him a thumbs up in return. ]
