[Locked to Luceti residents]

[The following message is typed, but an automated computerized voice option is available as well. It will appear on the journal system at around 6AM.]

Approximately three hours ago, the experimental enclosure known as Kin’cora, located in Region Six, was attacked by a cultist army led by the entity known as The General. His forces breached the barrier and began their invasion. Malnosso Security Forces responded in turn and decimated his forces. Just under half of the enclosure's population was killed or taken for sacrifice before the situation was resolved.

By order of the Commandant, the enclosure designated as Luceti has been approved as a temporary refuge for displaced subjects of the Kin’cora experiment. In approximately six hours, subjects will begin to arrive. They will remain there until such a time as they can be moved to more permanent accommodations. Note, the Kin’cora journal system will be deactivated while within the Luceti enclosure.

Cultist activity continues to be high in Region Six. Expect additional supplies to be limited until situation is resolved. Emergency rations will be routed to the enclosure as they become available. Subjects are urged to use current provisions wisely and to cooperate with displaced refugees. For safety purposes the Shift limiting superhuman abilities will be reduced to ten percent. No further details will be made available at this time.

I have a really bad feeling about this. We better get to planning if we only have six hours.

So what, they're seriously just gonna dump 'em here with us? What happened to finding other places to bring them to? [And she has good reason to doubt, given circumstances. Granted, the farm seems to be going well enough, so they might be able to supply the newcomers for a while...]

Someone will want to keep an eye out for where the Kin'corans come from -- be it random appearance or traveling from a specific direction.

...And someone will want to take stock of what is in the grocery store at the current time.

These people... lost their home? [An enclosure, just like theirs.] We're gonna have to look out for them.

Does anybody else besides my brother, Fenimore, and me know how to butcher meat? If we're going to be doing a lot of hunting, then we'll need people who can dress and prepare it properly. Even though Luceti has plenty of natural resources, we don't know how long this is going to last, so it's very important to take care that the hunting doesn't put too much of a toll on the land.

There should only be a few people hunting a certain amount of meet necessary to supplement the village's supplies every day. And we need some sort of system to make sure that when the meat and fish get distributed, no one has more than their fair share so that everyone has enough.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I'd like to call an emergency meeting of all medical personnel in twenty minutes at the Battle Dome. We don't know how many wounded are going to pouring in and we need to prepare to deal with mass casualties.

[90% is harsh, but there's no point arguing about it when they're not replying.]

Anyone else just a teensy bit concerned that the Third Party managed to break through a barrier? How long is it gonna be before they pull that crap on us? Not as though we haven't been invaded in the past, just not as big as what these guys just got put through.

Just so everyone knows - with a big population like that and on this short of notice, they aren't going to be Shifted in. Or if they are, a decent part of them are going to have Shift Afflictions. Seriously, I've been Shifted out of this barrier for a draft I was supposed to be on from a point other than that thing in the tunnels and I was vomiting most of that day.

So most likely, they're going to be escorted through the barrier physically... so they'll be way out at the edge of the forest. [Or... some will be sick. Both are possible]

Y'know, having over half of another enclosure's guys coming in is going to be taking a lot out of more than just food and stuff. All the power and the zappyzap stuff is going to be stretched really far if suddenly all those community buildings are filled up.

Is there some sort of back-up or reserve power supply here ooor what? This is probably a good time to think about if I want two banana pies after dinner or if I should ration one off for later, huh?

I know all of you are worried about those refugees floodin' in, but we've got other concerns. The cultists may have been routed by the Mallies, but that don't mean they're gone. Chances are, the Sparties will be following them here. If they can take down one barrier, chances are they can do it again.

So if you ain't makin' food or guardin' it, then we need to make sure we're ready for an invasion. That means places we can put people who can't fight, fortifications, weapons, and scouts on our borders. If there's refugees that can fight, we'll want them ready to fight with us. There ain't any point in us being caught with our pants down.
